Prep Time: 15-20 minutes
Active Cooking Time: 10 minutes
4-tbsp unsalted butter (softened)
1-cup confectioners sugar (sifted)
1-tsp to 1-tbsp of cold milk or heavy cream
¼-tsp clear vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
In a medium bowl, beat softened butter until light and fluffy - roughly thirty seconds to one minute. Add confectioners sugar, 1-teaspoon of milk or cream, ¼-tsp vanilla, and a pinch of salt.
Beat with an electric hand mixer until smooth. Add up to two additional teaspoons of milk or cream, until frosting has a medium consistency and forms nice peaks that don’t wilt.
Place frosting in a piping bag fitted with a small round tip.
Then pipe one line across the top of the petite, flowed by three to four small lines perpendicular to the original line in order to create the laces.
If you want to be a little extra, you can serve your Football Petites on a field of ‘grass.’ Here’s how - In a sealable plastic bag, place three cups of shredded coconut. Add to the bag three to four drops of green food coloring. Shake bag to distribute green food coloring until all the shredded coconut is evenly colored. Spread your colored coconut, aka ‘grass,’ onto a cute platter, and place your Football Petites on top - Voila!
