Shes taught her children to walk, then to run. She has proudly strung up scribbled pages of scribbled crayons as ‘artwork’ and placed clumps of freshly picked weeds in vases as ‘bouquets.’ She laughed at every joke, sometimes hardest at the ones which were least funny. She’s nursed broken hearts, ached with agony when she was unable to fix her child’s problem, and she cried alongside them instead. She has played mentor, teacher, and friend; she taught courage, poise, humility, compassion, and conviction.
Perhaps the best way to define the undefinable is with the undefinable. - A mother is unconditional love.
Let’s be real. We should be thanking our moms every single day. But as we get older and our lives get busy, we forget to be grateful.
